Justin's compositions are varied, from classical to blues to contemporary, due to his extensive background in classical music, performance and radio. He writes for piano, piano and cello and ANY combination of instruments. Browse and listen below!

Liam's New World Blues

Uptempo jazz/blues composition for solo piano. Cheeky, comical and contemporary. Lots of zeros and ones.

Good Time Charlie

Good Time Charle uses musical utterings from the great "blues language," infused in a 4x4 padded piano bass. This piece is ideal for performance with two repeats available. Also designed to improve tactile sensitivity, rhythmic accuracy and form conception. Right hand solo, combines rhythm with melody conception for continuity.

Under Sea Cables - Syntax and Synapse

This is a study to build auditory imagination. The way you perceive music in your mind. Often, rhythmic and melodic dictation are tools used to enhance our listening and motor skills. This piece is designed to develop and improve our tactile ability at the piano. It is almost a theme and variations form, as it contains many layers. Starting small and building. Like the cables under the sea.

Inya Bass

This is a study (etude) to champion hand independence. It focuses on funk style bass with a mellow jazz/blues based right hand. The ideal piece for students to increase their understanding of how the bass can be figured on the piano.

Retrofitted Inverted Stride

This is a great way to improve your left hand and how mind processing counting, to ultimately increase hand independence. A variation on the traditional stride bass, the left had provides a rhythmic pulse to hold the right hand in place.

Elevator Muzik

The title says it all. Going up, going down. This is an exploration of texture and how to combine chords with melody, using touch and pedal. It's also useful for hand independence. The repeat section increases the size of the piece, making it ideal for performances also.
