
About Justin James
Musician, Composer, Mentor ... AND ... An Ordinary Human!
Justin James is a musician originally from Adelaide, South Australia. Now living between Perth, Western Australia and Sydney, New South Wales, having spent a considerable amount of time in the United States, honing his craft.
He is a classical pianist, contemporary songwriter, arranger and composer of a variety of genres. His primary focus is on music education. Having just completed his first book, a publication on the state of music education in the current era. He is also working on a documentary about music, to be released in 2026. He has released three classical piano albums, which include Piano V.1 and V.2, a selection of the best from 19 & 20th Century favourites, Chopin, Debussy, Scriabin and Rachmaninoff.
Justin has also completed recording the full version of Rachmaninoff Piano Sonata No 2 and is currently working on the Rachmaninoff First Piano Sonata and the Sonata for Cello & Piano, to be recording in the coming months. The recording list includes recording all four Rachmaninoff Piano Concertos and the Rhapsody.
Currently, his work involves arrangements for piano and various instruments, commissions and working on his own compositions. This includes a Sonata for Cello & Piano, a Piano Concerto, a set of Nocturnes and a book of music for those commencing piano studies. His mentor was teacher Pauline Belviso and Richard Gill.​
