A Bufflehead Seaduck
Original piano solo by Justin James
Level: Intermediate
About this Composition:
A North American duck, known for a large, round head, resemblng the head like a buffalo. Black and white plumage with an iridescent green and purple head. Great colour combo. Buffleheads are active divers, often submerged in search of breakfast, lunch or dinner. Or maybe a late-night snack if they have the munchies. They can take off directly from the surface of the water without needing to run, a catapult or jet/rocket fuel. They are low-flying but are also known for being clumsy on land. Listed as Least Concern by the International Union for Conservation of Nature, there are around 1.4 million of them. This intermediate level composition contains diving, swimming and flying, as well as traces of nuts.
Great for practicing a steady left hand in 3/4 time. It also promotes steady pedal points and beautiful right-hand phrases.
