A Note from Justin:
I’m not proud to suggest that I initially called this Dying Retirees. In recent population studies, a significant group are in their twilight years. This piece is about the wisdom, often held in a stored container and never seen by the wider community. My Mother took me to play music for the elderly when I was just a little fella. I rocked up with several ice cream containers (my drums) and occasionally had a bash of the piano. I remember talking to lots of them and to Mum about each of their lives. How unique they were. I was curious about them. This is a reflective piece of neoclassical music, exploring the inner life. A life looking back, not so much forward. It is a basic to intermediate level. Ideal for recitals, exams and to reflect on visiting a grandparent sometime.
