About this Song:
By: Justin James and Chris Fraser Brown
Rain for you was written between 1988 and 1990 and collaborated on subsequently during the early 90s.
Having spent several years in Los Angeles, both playing keyboards, recording and making contacts for songwriting, performing and arranging, I needed material to shop. Unfortunately, we were light on at the time for vocalists, so I took lead vocals and bv for this track and enlisted the help of Kilian Albrecht on rhythm and lead guitar. The result was pleasing, albeit in a slightly undercooked way.
This is a song for that rainy day we hope will never come. The one after turmoil and a storm of emotion. It is a song for the young, those reflecting on the past and for anyone that struggles to make sense of a relationship when it gets past the point of no return. When little things become magnified, when frustrations boil over and we cross into territory we should stay out of. Using the weather as a metaphor was probably more suited to previous decades of music, but I am endlessly romantic and things come and go.
