Caprice No.2 Op.13
Caprice by York Bowen
Arranged by Justin James
For piano and cello
Level: Advanced
About this Arrangement:
York Bowen was a student & professor at the Royal Academy of Music during the last century. Despite success, he is one of a handful of underrated composers from England. Bowen, like many of his contemporaries, had multiple talents. Pianist, organist, violist, composer and conductor. His compositional output is instrumental works in the main. The piano being the centrepiece. His Caprice No.2 for piano is largely unknown. My introduction to it was through my Mother playing it and performing it regularly during my childhood. I have arranged it for Piano & Cello, for as the title suggests, it is energetic and spontaneous. Recommended for advanced students.
